I’m Mike Garska and the founder of FAM as we call it.

I ‘ve always wanted to be able to help people on a larger scale. Being supportive and helping is in my nature. I’ve mentored and helped thousands in my life, but no one person has all the answers for everyone. We built FindAMentor so we could help many people using many people.

My work for the last 20 years is all about helping family business owners, their leaders and their work groups. We consult, coach and train people on ownership, leadership and communications best practice. Our company is Novacom International. FAM is one way that we give back. Membership is free and we offer a lot of free training to members as well. We also offer more intense and paid training programs.

Now, Before consulting and training, I owned a cell phone business that I built from the trunk of the car to 3 stores and 3 million in annual sales. I started the business when we had two young children. We chose to have one parent at home raising the kids. We often had 2 of the top 5 performing stores in the country. Prior to that I was an industrial business to business sales person and then sales manager. My first job was at 10 or 11 years old washing cream cans in a creamery my grandfather built that was being run by my uncle. I had about 20 jobs between the ages 11 and 21 when I started industrial sales.

Mentors have helped me throughout my life and carer in particular.

So, I believe masterminding is the best way to rapid growth and achievement. I learned about it when I was 16 from Napoleon Hills book, Think and grow Rich. Napoleon Hill is considered one of the grandfathers of achievement books. His Think and grow Rich sold over 80 million copies. He wrote many books and each one included a chapter on masterminding.

Masterminding is two or more minds coming together for a common objective. Hill writes: “when two or more minds come together a third invisible intangible force is created likened to a third mind.”

Mentoring is masterminding. When a mentor helps a mentee, the two are focused on the common objective of the mentees development. They are masterminding the mentees growth. At FAM you can be a mentee or mentor or mastermind partner in over 2000 categories, or aspects of life. There are four main categories. Career mentors. Education mentors, Life process mentors, spirituality mentors.

I’ve watched masterminding work wonders. No significant achievement happens by the mind, heart and hands of one person. It takes a team. It takes a mastermind. You can create any mastermind you want right here at FAM.

You can build a 2-person common mentor mentee mastermind group or you can build a unique group. Try one mentor or two mentors working in a group with 4 mentees for example.

And here’s a tip. The most dynamic mastermind teams I’ve witnessed and/or been a part of include 4 to 6 members.

Anyway we’re all about helping people by providing a safe environment for them to be able to find mastermind partners that they can grow their knowledge, perspective, worth and value with. Please join. Be a mentor in your area of expertise and be a mentee in that aspect of life you want to be better at.
